counting down the days.....

i think i am going to just post one new entry every semester in florida......as you can tell nothing much happens in fort myers from the number of blog posts.....or maybe it's just an excuse that i'm too lazy haha.....i actually was just about to post something but then my stupid computer hung...AGAIN....so now i have to re-type this post.....

yup it's a piece of art isn't it......classic 1999 silver-bodied stunning beauty......except that it didn't come with some handles on the passanger doors.......the price you pay when you buy second-hand.....

oh and not to mention one of them is broken also.....

so besides the handles.....everything else works fine.......

okok i have to stop posting pictures because they are taking too long to upload....so....since last semester, i have been able to move around a bit more and do my own grocery shopping without bothering anyone to take me.....i thought there would have been more things to do and see when i got a car....i guess i was wrong.....got a car but can't change the place.....it's still as dead as ever...it's like buying and wearing speedos to the swimming pool......with no water in the pool....

so last week was our spring break and we had to play tennis matches almost everyday which basically left us with no spring break......got a new room mate, mikkel....another danish guy who is on the tennis team.....finally we get a normal room mate....the past 2 room mates were a bit siao kao in the head.....so bacon, mikkel and i decided to go to a yankees game in sarasota which is about an hour and a half drive from where we are....these pictures were after the game.....

seriously....baseball must be one of the most boring sports to watch.....it was a 3 hour long match.....but it felt much longer and i lost count of the number of times i yawned.....i had to try and stay awake by screaming some random stuff at the players once in a while....but well at least i can say i watched the yankees live....which isn't something big but oh well.......

ok this post has taken longer than expected.....but to end off on a more serious note.....i think life has its way of turning and surprising us when we least expect it.....we plan for many things.....and hope for the best....but ultimately the Invisible Hand still guides and leads.....and only through humility will deep lessons of truth be learnt...never in pride.....

orlando

just some pictures i took on my recent trip to orlando with bacon....the bottom two were at the Orlando Magics stadium where we watched the magics play the bobcats..that was pretty fun...amazing how they make every match an event to go to...probably that's why it is so popular...

The second one from the top is some museum we drove past and thought it was cool so decided to take a picture....oh and the first picture....the blue bottle was this white wine we bought at costco because we thought it'd looked unique....but guess things that look good on the outside are not that good on the inside...that was the worst bottle of white wine i have ever drank....horrible....tasted much better with spaghetti though...so had vongole for about 5 days straight....

okok.....still waiting for news to come my way.....tomorrow is supposed to be the last day....hopefully there won't be anymore delays.....this wait is killing me....

Sushi time

Been a little more adventurous this semester with food....Me and Bacon had cravings for sushi the other day and decided that we did not want to pay excessive amounts of money just to satisfy our cravings....so utilizing our ingenuity, we decided to make sushi ourselves! Here are some pictures....(actually the only pictures i have taken since i came back.....for those of you who don't know i also bought a bang-ed up car this semester but was too lazy to bring my camera down to take a picture of it. It's an old reliable toyota corolla. Kinda resembles a ferrari. Really.)

I have no idea why but i wanted to put the pictures in chronological order and explain the sequence of events which will bore most of you to death....but this blogger never listens to me....so now all the pictures are at the top...yup as you can see it turned out pretty good huh....looked pretty presentable....inside the sushi were oyster sauce chicken and crabsticks....yummy yummy yummy....for those of you who are going "how on earth can that be yummy?????" trust me....when you have a craving.....anything that resembles the craving is extra yummy.....

so besides the occasional joyous experiments with food here, life here is pretty mundane....just waiting for things to happen....waiting waiting waiting....that is the hardest part.

awakened from hibernation

hello myself....here i am sitting in my lousy wooden chair talking to myself again....its nearing the end of the semester....FINALLY.....time is so paradoxical....it's both fast and slow at the same time....don't you guys feel that too? anyhow.....exams are coming up in about a week's time....yuppie....NOT!

last weekend must be one of the "fun-est" weekends in America man....went up to New York and New Jersey to meet my older brother and Qiuwei....look at them in the picture above....so cute huh....wearing 3D glasses as we prepared to enter a Spongebob ride for warm up.....then as you can see in the picture below....after the warm up....we were ready for the real thing....even qiuwei went for some of the rides.....

After one ride which was quite similar to the viking ship ride....

qiuwei: "WHAT???!!! I DID NOT KNOW IT GOES UPSIDE DOWN!!"

jon: "yeah i also did not know...."

me: "heh....i knew....."

that was the last time qiuwei would ever trust me......hahahah

so back to six flags....yes the theme park is called six flags....weird name huh....doesn't even sound appealing at all....but i tell you...the rides are AMAZING.....the huge green one in the back....that shoots you from 0-200km/h in less than 4 sec.....and you have a VERTICAL climb about 470m....and just when you think it is all over.....you go back down VERTICALLY....i have never screamed so much like a little girl in my life before.....besides maybe when i play winning eleven and score a goal......but yah......it was CRAZY.....and guess what....after that weekend....i fell sick....and i am still sick.....short term pleasure for long term sickness man.....but it was worth it........

ok people who actually spend the time reading my useless blog have to put up with the late posts......time to sleep now....bed is calling me.....gotta rise and shine early tomorrow......good night america.......good morning singapore

back to hermit-da-tory

well guess who it's me again....talking to myself on this blog page....have i ever said that blogging feels like i am talking to myself in the mirror? just that this is a public mirror and other people can observe you holding a conversation with yourself......

told a special someone that i promised to put up a new entry on my blog this weekend, well it's already monday but it's a Martin Luther King holiday today to technically i have a long weekend and this counts as the weekend. I clearly remember having a similar holiday last semester which was "Martin Luther King" day also...according to someone today was the day he was born....and the holiday i had last semester was the day he died.....if only we celebrate the birth and death of every important person that has a holiday in rememberance of them......we will have twice the amount of holidays!

anyhow....back to life here in florida....was hoping that school would get tougher and fortunately (or unfortunately) it really got much tougher i feel....the professors this semester are a lot more demanding and the work load is already piling up in the first week.....okok....enough about work.....work is boring.....and it's but man's burdensome task on this earth.....on with something more interesting.....

well i tried to post the picture down here but the computer is not cooperating with me i don't know why....so guys if you think that it is queer that i post a picture up there when i am actually talking about it down here and it messes up your brain because it does not flow logically, yes it is queer and blame the computer for not listening to my commands....anyway....that i think in my opinion was the nicest picture that edlyn and i have ever taken....it may seem a bit blur.....but before you blame the picture....blame your eyes.....or your specs if you are wearing any...they may be the ones that is causing you to look at a blur picture.....haha....

this is a record....this is going to be my longest post yet......

snorkling

well.....i have proven myself wrong....i am actually posting something even before i head for boston and ny next week.....if you guys are thinking what on earth this retard is doing in this picture, yes it is me. This was when i was snorkeling in the atlantic ocean when i was in key west and for those of you who have not tried snorkeling, you should try it at least once in your life. It is an amazing experience, and you can look just as retarded as i look in this picture. To those of you who complained about my bad postings when i posted the pictures the wrong way around last time, at least i posted the picture the right way around this time, but don't expect such kindness next time. haha.

ok....i have been bugged to post something.....so here i am sitting in my room in florida with nothing to do as usual... posting another entry.....FINALLY.....i'm really bad and slow with pictures....as you could tell from my pervious photos.....next time i'll try to get it the right way around....

anyway.....the next time you will see new pictures is after i come back from boston and new york after thanksgiving.....yes i am going to boston and new york for thanksgiving next month.....hope i don't freeze my butt off there because all i have are t shirts and shorts and $1 dollar slippers from philippines.....
